Wal-Mart ordered the outlets in Ningbo to take off shelves ofthree brands of Shaoxing yellow rice wine yesterday.

These three yellow rice wine are among the best-selling yellow wine in domestic market. The reason for their sudden removal off the shelves is a testing report from Hong Kong Consumer Council found 16 forms of yellow rice wine containing excessiveethyl carbamate. And the three are on the list.

Howver, these three brands of Shaoxing yellow wine were still on the shelves of Sanjiang supermarket, Tesco along with other supermarkets in Ningbo. ?We are looking forward to the producer?s response and the government?s reaction?, said a responsible person of Sanjiang supermarket, ?so we won?t take sake brewery tour off the shelves at the moment.?
